Subject:My Weeklies

Aloha! This week, my scale says I weigh 171.5 with an amazing 38% body fat! I'm so confused. The gym scale says one thing, the home scale says another. Instinctively I feel that I've maintained rather than gaining or losing.

But I feel stronger--I hefted a large TV by myself when boyfiend and I moved furniture a few nights ago. This week will be good. I weight trained yesterday and will do so on Weds and Fri. I'm working like a fiend this week, which means a lot of physical activity, even if it isn't gym-based.

I ordered my wedding dress last night and it will come in mid-April. Hopefully I won't disgust myself when I see my blobbery tummy through the gauzy pretty-pony fabric. Maybe my blubbescence will have decreased by then. Perhaps a monkey will fly out of my bum.

Hi, I'm new here and beginning my journey to health and wellness. Through a combination of a South Beach-esque diet, gym workouts, lots of walking and not binge-snacking, I hope to lose about 45 pounds. It would be great if I did this before my wedding in July, but before then I have mini-goals (tone up and lose 15lbs before a weekend beach trip in May is one).

I thought I'd post my beginning stats. I have "before" pictures but I'm not sure I want to post them just now. If anyone out there has advice or, more importantly, inspiring stories to share, I'd love to hear it all. Thanks and good health to everyone!

1 cup leftover veggies from dinner (garlic, red cabbage, radicchio, endive, spinach with olive oil)
Big amounts of water
